In my role representing Wales in the European Parliament, and as Co-President of the Africa, Caribbean and Pacific States / EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly, I work on a wide range of issues - representing my consituents' concerns both at home and in the wider world.

Euro Funding in Wales
EUROPEAN structural funds are working for Wales. Since 2000 more than £1.3 billion has been channelled into Wales through the Objective 1 programme. Now, over the next seven years, Wales will continue to benefit from £1.3 billion more European cash under the EU's new Convergence Programme, driving a total investment of over £3 billion. Crisis in Darfur
DARFUR is one of the world's worst humanitarian crises. To date it has left between 200,000 and 450,000 dead, three million displaced and 90 per cent of black African villages destroyed. Read more...
Action on Burma
BURMA is ruled by one of the most brutal military dictatorships in the world; a dictatorship charged by the United Nations with a "crime against humanity" for its systematic abuses of human rights, and condemned internationally for refusing to transfer power to the legally elected Government of the country - the party led by Nobel Peace Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi. The Millennium Development Goals
AT the United Nations Millennium Summit in September 2000, world leaders signed up to eight goals with the aim of halving world poverty by 2015.
