MEP joins calls to put Anglesey on map
11th April 2008
ANGLESEY-born Euro-MP Glenys Kinnock has joined calls for Walkers Crisps to put the island firmly on their promotional map of the UK.
The Walkers Brit Tours promotion has removed Anglesey from its map of the UK created as part of a campaign to get people to enjoy Britain's tourist attractions.
Glenys Kinnock has now written to the company chief executive urging him to put Anglesey back on the map.
GLENYS KINNOCK said:
"It's quite shocking to airbrush Anglesey off the map - especially as the map is part of a tourism promotion and Anglesey is one of the most popular tourism destinations in Wales, with beautiful scenery and an abundance of activities for visitors.
"I have written to the company urging them to ensure Anglesey is placed firmly on the map."
